When someone cannot be left alone at any point in the day, there are two ways to cover it: a live-in caregiver who stays in the home, or rotating shifts that cover twenty-four hours with awake staff.
Which one fits depends on the nights. If the person sleeps through, live-in is usually far more affordable and feels more like family than staffing. If they are up several times, wandering, or need turning, rotating shifts are safer and fairer to the caregiver.
